And he was beside him, waiting, loving silently, yearning for something he'll never have.
Or the story in which Izuku marries Ochako and Katsuki refuses to keep waiting for one last chance.
Or alternatively, the story in which Katsuki goes and Izuku is left to deal with a time travelling quirk, alone with what his sixteen year old self has to make him see.

The air was forced from his lungs as he collided harshly with the linoleum bathroom floor. Where the hell was he? Two seconds ago, he’d been in the middle of a villain fight downtown. Somebody gasped in the corner, and Bakugou was immediately on his feet and alert, searching for whoever made the sound.
The last thing he expected was to lock eyes with Deku, except it wasn’t his Deku. No, he was standing across from a younger version of the man, who still wore the Aldera uniform.
