Summary
Silence was the first thing Iruka noticed, the complete lack of sound emphasized by the soft humming in his ears. The space was vast, empty, a canvas of white stretching endlessly ahead with a single door standing a short distance away.
“Are you alright?” Iruka jumped at the unexpected noise, whipping around so fast his ponytail smacked him right on his face. The soft chuckle that followed was easily recognised, Iruka’s finger went to his nose bridge, the familiar motion comforting. “Why am I here?” he asked, head bowing a little to greet Kakashi. Offering a smile but no explanation, the jōnin headed straight towards the door and placed his gloved hand on the door knob, instantly triggering a burst of chakra powerful enough to knock Iruka flat to the ground.

Summary
Hatake Kakashi’s entire life was the furthest thing away from normality, he should have expected the same with his soulmark. It appeared during the third year of his tenure when he was thirty-six, a good twenty years later than the population’s average, the mark inconspicuous at the inside of his upper left arm. Kakashi paused mid-shave, fingers still zapping with electricity, he stared at his own reflection in the mirror for a long, long time.

Summary
Contrary to popular beliefs, Kakashi did have a support system of his own. Therapy group, self-help circle, whatever people called it, his coping mechanism was fully functioning and it kept him borderline sane. It didn’t matter that his group members were mostly dead and his therapy involved role-playing said dead members in his head, the point was that it worked. His skills were exemplary, his loyalty to Konoha resolute, his meticulously crafted personality insufferable. He was the near-perfect embodiment of Konoha’s finest asset, maybe not the personality part, and Kakashi honestly did not see what the council’s problem was.
