It was almost like slow motion, the way Yoongi’s head turned to face him, their eyes locking, the brilliant smile that lit up Yoongi’s face so familiar Jimin could have sworn, for a brief moment, that they were teenagers again. So familiar, and yet it disarmed him even still, after all these years.

Yoongi is a blank slate. He does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. Fucks Jimin beautifully, then goes right back to writing lyrics or layering instruments on his laptop. It’s cool. Yoongi has rap and Jimin has dance and sometimes they have each other but never for too long, just for the length of the gaps in between their respective interests. Sometimes Jimin lets himself want more. Then he reminds himself to come up for air.

Yoongi’s shoulders lift with a sigh, his face still downturned to the breakfast bar, hidden from view. “It’s not the same,” he mumbles.

Jimin's made it to 20 without experiencing his first kiss, and Yoongi's the quiet, grumpy guy he turns to for help. Slight problem: Yoongi doesn't like him.
