“Joe?” The woman on stage asks again, and more heads are turning, and okayyyyy– there’s no mistaking it this time.
“I think you are.” Langa says, unaware of the internal turmoil Kojiro’s going through.

It’s a delicate balance. The push and pull between old friends, a rivalry and an unbreakable bond that has been tried and tested enough times to prove itself to remain true despite, despite, despite.
It’s one thing Kojiro is sure of, at least. So long as he walks this Earth, Kaoru will follow – or rather, walk steadily by his side. They’re bookends, the pair of them. Never one without the other.
Even if some lines in between them have always remained unread.
