The red, blue and white checkered mini-skirt and even a pair of black, thigh-high socks. Sweet Pea can’t, for the life of him, explain why he’s so drawn to it, but once he’s picked it up, he finds it near impossible to put it back down. He’s so fascinated by the look and feel oft it, it makes his pulse pump a little quicker and his skin itch with the potential of the half-formed idea that’s taking root in his brain.

Sweet Pea buys a schoolgirl uniform for Jughead. Jughead is not amused. But he folds anyway and he actually even kind of ends up liking it.

It’s not an obsession—no—Yamaguchi Tadashi is not obsessed with him. His mother has stopped probing, stopped investigating, in fear of what exactly lays beneath the hollow floorboards, behind the framed photos, and in the box tucked into the back of Yamaguchi’s closet. The box under his bed is only a replica, obviously, of the many, many originals he keeps in various places for safety’s sake.
And let’s not forget the small room, accessible only through Yamaguchi’s closet. Yes, that is the place where Yamaguchi can let his appreciation of Tsukishima Kei roam wild and free.
Otherwise, it has to be bottled up, carefully suppressed in Yamaguchi’s throat so he doesn’t accidentally let it slip how obsessed—no—appreciative, he is of Tsukishima Kei.
If it’s more than appreciation, and it’s definitely not obsession, what else can it be other than love?
