The presence of a stranger startled her. It had been so long since she had seen another human outside of her family and her father's hired soldiers. Her heart clenched with hope. Another soul had successfully crossed the desert to reach this safe house before the oasis. They were not alone in this desolated world.
"I don't mind the company," she smiled.
