On their wedding night, Claire tells Jamie about her life traveling with her uncle to archeological digs and her early medical training with Dr. Raymond in South Africa. But there are plenty of secrets she’s keeping: her travel through the stones; her healing powers she can’t quite explain; Frank’s secret work for MI6 and just what he knew about her Uncle’s death, Paul Rakoczy’s failed test flying mission, and the Stuart Witch. Claire’s not sure it's safe to return to her own time and Jamie keeps claiming more of her heart the longer she stays.
Murtagh told Jamie from the beginning that Claire had appeared from out of the stones. "I could see right through her until she hit the ground becoming solid flesh." Jamie doesn’t know who or what she is, but he’s certain God sent her to heal him. He vows to always protect her and do anything to keep her.
