Du fait de sa nature duelle, Aaron est soumis à plus de contraintes que ses camarades. Et la plus important est la pleine lune.
Afin de préserver sa jeune calice, Aaron décide de passer la pleine lune dans les bois. Cependant, après plusieurs jours d'absence, Eloïse n'a toujours pas de nouvelles de son compagnon, et s'inquiète, jusqu'à l'apercevoir enfin lors de la soirée de Beliath. Mais la vue d'Aaron en train de sympathiser avec une femme mystérieuse tout en ignorant ses sentiments fera naître en elle des émotions dont elle n'avait jusqu'alors pas conscience. Tentant d'y échapper, elle se réfugie dans le jardin, sans se douter qu'elle n'y est pas seule...

En bref, une réécriture de la scène de la fête de Béliath, avec un changement à la fin, qui se répercutera sur le reste de la route d'Aaron.

Astarion turned to leave when Raphael spoke. “Yes, my dear Vampire Ascendant, you did vex me greatly throughout this deal, and I’d have slaughtered you for it were it not for the possibility of this exact outcome. You delivered to me my reign, and I will not forget it. Besides, you should be proud—you went against a devil and negotiated the most balanced contract I believe has ever been created in the history of the hells. Really, you thought of ALMOST everything.”
Astarion froze.
Raphael laughed. “Don’t worry, little vampire, you’ll get your beloved back, and you’ll have the opportunity to make her fall in love with you again. I will deliver everything that was promised. But my dear Astarion, you forgot one thing…you didn’t say when….”
Astarion turned with a snarl, but before he could take a single step, he had been transported out of the House of Hope in a haze of brimstone, and the last he heard of Raphael was the devil’s devious laughter.
