“Yeah.” Shinme-shishō breathed deeply. “Yeah, we could. That’s probably our best bet.” She turned to look at him, eyes wide. “Wait!” she said, putting her hands in front of her. “I have the best idea.”
Sanko-shishō shot her an unimpressed look. “Yes?” she asked, nodding her head in Shinme-shishō’s direction. “What?”
“We could call in the Rengokus!” Obanai felt a mix of surprise and confusion rise in him, only to be replaced by excitement. “How come?” he asked suspiciously, sure there was a catch.
Shinme-shishō paused. “Ah…” She seemed unsure of what to say. “Because they would be excited, no? And perhaps they have some pointers. Rengoku is a Hashira.”
“Tips on Breathing Styles, right?” Sanko-shishō said pointedly, turning a frustrated gaze to her sister. Obanai got the feeling he was missing something.
“Of course,” Shinme-shishō said confidently. “And anyway, you haven’t seen them in a while. It’s high time for a visit.”
It’s basically a scar/past trauma reveal type of thing because there literally are one, though it’s going to take a long time to get there. So yay, long fic!
