Wide black eyes met his own. A soft, confused face, one that he recognized all too well, one that had been ripped right out of his only good childhood memories.

Mikoto point of view sucks.
She is so far in the Uchiha side, that the hypocrisy of her thought is very galling. With every thought that was suppose to be a positive points in the Uchiha side and disparage to the Konoha and the other clans, you can see how arrogant, prideful, and entitled she or they were. She expect support from others while in her own mind she thought highly of the purebloodednes of Uchiha and the prioritization of her own family first before the legacy of her own best friends.
It's fine if you want to prioritize your own family, but don't condemn others for doing the same.
And expecting Kakashi to show loyalty to Uchiha while acknowledging that most of her clans want to take back Obito's gift from him. The eye is a gift, he is not beholden to the Uchiha just because he kept the gift. And it can be inferred that the clan is still resent him for it, so what exactly should endear the clan to him? Nothing.
All in all, while it is no way implied that the clan was deserved to be massacreed, their isolation is partly their own fault due to their attitude and mindset. At least that's what I get from this Mikoto's thought -
