    Ranma's family is broke and in debt. He wants to break out of his family's expectations of him, but that's sorta difficult when he also has to sneak around them to work and transition.
    Akane feels like she's being swallowed whole. She's trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the death of her boyfriend, but the weight of her grief might be too much for her.
    They meet at his work, that just so happens to be the coffee shop her sister runs, and the loads their carrying feel a lot lighter when the two are together.
