“Pack your things.”
All of Childe’s thoughts seemed to come to a halt as he blinked almost owlishly at Scaramouche, unable to process what had just been said. There had to be something wrong with his hearing, right? There was no way he’d heard that right… Scaramouche had made his distaste for pairing up with Childe on any activity pretty well-known to just about everyone in the Fatui. Childe was always the last person Scaramouche would turn to if he ever needed anything. Going by that logic, Scaramouche must have been down on his luck in getting any of the other harbingers to take with him in on his mission. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been standing outside of Childe’s room asking, or more like demanding, him to pack for what Childe assumed was going to be their soon to be mission together.
“Come again?” Childe straightened up a bit after gathering his thoughts.
Or: Childe was never very good when it came to co-operating with his coworkers. But when he’s assigned to work with Scaramouche on an undercover mission to retrieve a missing delusion, he makes an exception.

Summary
Indigo eyes quickly scan the nearby surroundings but find nothing out of the usual at first. Everyone he’d ever come to know within in his time spent in city were all in place. A couple of scholars were conversing near an alchemist table, in what seemed to be a no-nonsense discussion of who-knows-what. The mercenary of the corps of thirty were patrolling the streets as usual, all of them keeping a tight lip on their own accord as local residents of passed by. Really, everything was the same as it always was. Or at least it would have been until a whisp of ginger hair danced at the corner of his peripheral.
Standing not even several feet away from him was none other than Childe himself.
Shit.
The blockhead really had a knack for timing didn’t he?
Or: While he’s out on a stroll through the bustling streets of Sumeru City, Scaramouche encounters a familiar face he isn’t prepared to see.
