Summary
This fic is a spin off AU of the Gale/Tavi fic “Carrying Your Love With Me” in which Gale and Tavi slept together once after the final battle and then Gale left without notice, accidentally having gotten her pregnant. In the original fic that is still ongoing Tavi and Gale meet again later and are in the process of working things out and continuing their relationship, building trust. In that same fic Halsin has feelings for Tavi but they are unrequited, and Tavi is in love with Gale.
This fic however takes place during and after chapters 5 and 6 of CYLWM, but changes the outcome of Gale and Tavi’s reunion and conversation to have Gale double down on his duty to protect her when he finds out she is pregnant; leaving her alone once again.
She leans on Halsin who she has been avoiding her feelings for, and discovers her heart isn’t as broken as she thought. Can Halsin truly love her and a child that isn’t his?

Some things will be spoiled for CYLWM in this story, and some things may be spoiled for this story because of that story. So, just keep that in mind if you're reading both of them. Certain details will be the same in both, others will change.

so different from most other fics with abdirak. he's actually a long term partner, there's romantic bits to this and a hint that they're going to be together long term. I didn't know how much I desire fics about Abdirak as a long term romantic partner until this one. There are few fics about him, but the majority are smut only, and while I fuckin' adore those, I've a specific craving for Abdirak as someones kinky romantic life-partner tbh. This is just...a mega fave.
