    “They say that when the moon can’t be found in the sky, it is because HanGuang-Jun has come down into the mortal world. They say he is the god most dedicated to the people, and helps all those that pray to him, no offering too small so long as their intentions are pure.
    “They also say that one night when he descended, he fell madly in love with a servant of the Jiang family who had been running errands for them that night.
    “Of course, no mortal could refuse the beauty of a god, and the pairing resulted in a child.
    “The servant fled, fearful of what the Mistress of the home would do when she had found out a god had favored him over her own children. No one knows where he could be found, not even the god himself.”
