Summary
The shutters rattle. That’s the first thing Josh becomes aware of as he slowly comes back to consciousness. His dreams fading out slowly. He doesn’t want to open his eyes, because this means a new day and more work to do, so he lets his eyes stay shut. The next thing he notices is a low rhythmic thumping. Probably the shutters where the brackets broke along with the pattering of rain. Then it gets bright for a second. Lightning! And a second later he hears the rumble of the thunder. A storm right above them then. Nothing new. Nowadays its always storming in Siston, a small village just outside of Bristol.
Or Josh wakes up in the middle of the night to the whimpering of his bestfriend and comforts her.
