Summary
After the incident at his school, Pico was deemed guilty, he had been the only one found holding a weapon when the police arrived, and Cassandra had vanished without a trace. His friends did their best to explain what had truly happened, but the authorities refused to believe them. In the end, Pico was sent to a juvenile detention center, where he would remain for an entire year.
His release came thanks to his adoptive father, Tankman, who fought tirelessly on his behalf. Even so, freedom came with conditions. Pico was required to attend therapy, a mandate he met with reluctance. Yet, after several long and difficult sessions, he gradually began to open up to his therapist, who then suggested he try expressing his thoughts in a diary.
At first, Pico dismissed the idea as pointless. But after a few days of silent resistance, he picked up a pen and decided to give it a chance.
