“Excuse me!”
Whoever had called out was walking towards him and Leo turned, bracing for a lecture. When he saw the person in question, however, the thought was quickly wiped from his mind.
The man approaching him looked nothing like the sort of teacher he’d been expecting. He was nearly the same height as Leo, walking with straight posture and sure strides. He had an immaculately-groomed goatee and stern eyes framed by stylish black glasses, and looked to be around Leo’s age; maybe in his early forties.
Leo tried to look aloof as the man walked up to him.
“You’re not supposed to be here.”Leo is a proud father, and a husband in a loving open marriage. Vincent is an elementary school teacher, recently divorced, and has never held his baby daughter. They have very little in common aside from a mutual attraction, yet their lives seem to be becoming more and more intertwined--for better or for worse.
This is a rewrite of my previous unfinished work titled A Way In.

Summary
Modern AU - Johnny Joestar is a former jockey that after a gunshot to the lower back lost his claim to fame and his spot in his family legacy. Leaving behind an abusive and neglectful father, Johnny decides to move across the country from Kentucky to California in order to search for a new lease on life. Although he enrolls in college, he is no academic. Having been groomed to be a jockey since his brother's death when he was seven years old, he has no idea what to do with his life now at 19. As he struggles to figure his life out and adjust to his disability, he falls into some new habits. Indulging on the party scene-finding the numb of alcohol and drunks as an escape from his crushing loneliness, he picks up a more dangerous career choice. Becoming a narcotic pusher and later addict. He uses the money earned for expansive treatments for his back so he can walk again, but at what cost? At least his doctor is good looking.
