An old cartoon was playing on a television mounted into the wall, a receptionist was speaking on the phone, children were playing with toys and laughing, mothers were chatting away, sitting on a row of chairs against the wall.
Even Joyce Byers was seated in a chair, sighing as she filled out paperwork pinned to a clipboard, and checking her watch.
Everyone was unaware of the terrible crime being committed just down the hallway.
…Otherwise; during a routine check-up; Will receives a more thorough examination by his pediatrician; Dr Creel.

“Henry,” Will cries softly, hands dragging up to the sharp planes of his love’s face to pry it away from his middle, to gaze down into those shimmering blue eyes. “I love you.”
Everything stills. Henry’s tears freeze upon his cheeks, his breath halts in his lungs. A sweet song like morning birds echoes in his ears, Will’s voice repeating and repeating through his mind as he tries to wrap his head around the beautiful truth his boy has just revealed to him. He loves him, he loves him, he loves him.
“Come here,” Henry growls, so low in his throat that it hurts.
