Yoongi was a timid first year, shy and naive. Jungkook and Yoongi ran in different circles, therefore limiting their chances of interaction. They were so incredibly different that Jungkook did not make an effort to be friends with Yoongi, he did not even think that Yoongi liked him. He would have probably lived his whole life with that assumption if Yoongi had not confessed to him.
