Those words are enough to immediately cause Kota to start crying, and they scramble up onto the couch and Lisa shifts so they can both lay down, and Kota immediately presses his head into Lisa's chest.
It reminds her of when they were still kids. Or, well, she was a teenager and he was a fully grown anglerfish. Either way. She'd cradle him in her arms like this, and just talk to him. Sure, back then she didn't have a headlamp pressing into her sternum, and Kota wasn't shaking violently in her arms, but it's similar enough.
