It wasn’t just the delicious snacks she would bring him whenever he dropped by nor was it her great hugs when he had to leave. In fact, it was only when the weather turned nasty on them one evening and she invited him in to play video games that he really noticed.
Marinette smelled good. Better than good. She smelled amazing!

Once the six weeks are over your guy is back on the market.”
Ms. Bustier had threatened the girls, telling them to sort the drama out once and for all, and do it away from the classroom. So here they were at their annual sleepover putting together their ‘Fantasy Boy Draft.’
Unfortunately Lila’s manipulative way once again gets her the boy, so Marinette does the next best thing. Calls out Chat Noir’s name.
Will the hero be willing to go on a date with the girl who drafted him? And will Marinette be able to keep herself together for just one night?

Marinette is getting merch from him every day now. Sometimes multiple times a day. She's confused. The class is confused. Adrien is confused. Because he's tried to stop buying things. Marinette has asked him to stop buying things. Why CAN'T he stop buying things? Why does he need to see her wearing his merch now? Why is he constantly thinking about what to get her next? Why is he thinking about his very good friend this way??

Adrien thought it over. Could he really do that? Let Felix pretend to be him for a few hours?
“That's crazy.” He could only say.

The thought tastes like ash as it hits the back of his throat. He gnashes his teeth like it'll rid himself of the bitter taste that lingers on his tongue. Shudders as though it'd discourage the disgust that crawls beneath his pelt.
That bastard definitely never felt as bad as Petey does about it, but his guilt won't save him from just how badly he's fucked up. He'll still see that damned orange tabby in every reflection that catches Petey's eyes.
Especially after pulling a stunt like this.
Petey doesn't mean to miss Lil Petey's first art gallery and contest. It's just that everything that could go wrong, went wrong, and that happens sometimes!
But it's exactly the kind of shit his father had pulled with him. And that just makes it a hundred times worse.

Petey would argue all day long that personal deadlines were just as important as ones set by other people. If not more-so considering he was just about ready to chuck the "Grab-ity 2000" into a hole and set it on fire if he didn’t finish it today.
Either that or add it to the growing pile of unfinished projects in the spare bedroom.
He shudders. They hadn’t been able to open that room's door for months. His leading theory was that some failed project likely fell against the door- an issue that likely would be fixed if he could just get the Grab-ity 2000 to turn on.
But no, it just had to be an issue. So unless he wanted to sneak into the spare bedroom via a window to stash yet another failed device away, he needed to focus.
He couldn’t afford distractions.
But Dogman seems to have other plans.
Petey has a lot of pet peeves. Like a lot. But nothing frustrates him more than being interrupted while he's workshopping inventions. Especially not for some game of fetch.

...the light green would look nice wrapped around the flower stems. Surely Papa would understand its incorporation and make an exception for “duckweed”.

Li'l Petey wants to make a crown for his Papa. Thankfully, Molly and Flippy are both prepared to help in any way they can.

His eyes roll, far too used to how this story usually went. Still, he obliges, bending down before hoisting the kid into his arms to oversee the counter. It even earns him a joyous "Whee!" for his troubles; a sound that almost makes the following exchange worth it.
Almost.
"I want a large-"
"Small."
"-waffle-"
"Waffle cone."
"-with five-"
"One."
"-scoops of the pink and brown and white flavor!"
"Neapolitan," Petey corrects with a tired sigh. Then, he pauses, eyes narrowing down at the kitten now staring off into space far too innocently in his arms. A single poke at Lil Petey's ear gets the kid's attention. "Hey, I thought I banned you from ordering neapolitan.”
Petey takes Li'l Petey on their weekly gelato outing.

Lil Petey's nose twitches. "What?"
"Sick," Dogman repeats, carefully signing the word once more.
The kitten's eyebrows only furrow, troubled.
Huh. Had they really not covered "sick" before? Actually, now that he thinks about it, Lil Petey had yet to get sick under his care. For being a six-year-old dead-set on constant adventure, he'd maintained a shockingly clean bill of health.
"S-I-C-K," he slowly spells out before signing again for "sick". "Petey isn't sick?"
"Oh, Papa's not sick."
Small, orange ears suddenly flatten as Lil Petey seems to curl into himself. He's never seen the kitten look so small.
"He's sad."
It's been two weeks since Dogman last saw Petey. Not that the ex-felon was missing...he'd just stopped coming by the house for some odd reason.
Thankfully Lil Petey is there to help try and solve such a mystery.
