Hunter sucked in an unsteady breath, eyes wide as he looked at Gus. “You—you know.”
Gus could only nod.
Hunter jerked his hand out of Gus’s grip, standing up from the sofa and taking a stumbling step backwards. “H—how? How do you…?”
And he looked so scared, so unsure. So betrayed.
It was an expression that fit on Hunter’s face like a familiar glove. Gus had seen it so many times before.
And he knew what always followed it.
When Gus looked into Belos's mind he got a bit more than he bargained for. Who would have guessed that it was hard to look your friend in the eye when you had countless memories of killing them?
