“Stop trying to lead!” he said.
“Stop trying to follow!”
They glared at each other, and then, Leia began to laugh. It was a warm, happy sound, one where she was obviously aware of her own role in the mishap. It was so different from the first time he’d attempted to dance with someone.

Divus Crewel wrinkled his nose at his colleague’s display of gastrointestinal fortitude. The eggs slid straight down Vargas’ throat, something Divus had, unfortunately, witnessed on several previous occasions.
How he had ended up here was an unfortunate series of events, the worst of which had been a flat tire.
Vargas repeated his feat a second time, slammed the glass mug on the counter, and told anyone within hearing (which, considering his louder than usual volume, was everyone) how consumption of raw eggs was an important part of physical training.
And then, he let out a loud belch.
Crewel wrinkled his nose and quickly amended his earlier rankings of the evening’s events. The second worst thing to happen was the flat tire. The absolute worst was allowing himself to be in the very same pub as Ashton Vargas.

It was only a matter of time before Azul noticed.
Before he noticed that Jade was watching the slender human fingers of Azul’s left hand as they flipped through the lounge’s receipts. Occasionally, Azul would stop, jot something down with the pencil in his right hand, and then resume his perusal, all without missing a beat.
Azul wasn’t truly ambidextrous—like Jade, his dominant hand was his right—but it was interesting to see the way he made do with only two hands and two arms, so different from his merform and all the tentacles that he had at his disposal.
