As Izuku noticed the oil in the mapu tofu had begun solidifying as it cooled, he finally felt the first tear roll down one of his cheeks. It looked unappetizing, the color of the dish paling as it did when it was no longer fresh and warm. Izuku had worked so hard to make it exactly how Kacchan had liked it.
It would keep, he thought as more tears rolled down his cheeks. It would reheat well for a couple of days, he tried to assure himself. But today was Kacchan’s birthday, not tomorrow, not a couple of days from now, today.

“That can’t be what you remember when you see me now, I won’t let it be” Katsuki would fix it, he’d help Izuku see him again.
“Kacchan-” Izuku started like he didn’t believe Katsuki could overwrite that. But Katsuki could do anything, Izuku had always said so.
So Katsuki kissed Izuku. Then kissed him again.
Again, and again until Izuku’s lips were finding his just as frantically. Until Izuku was using his grip on Katsuki’s face to pull him in closer, until Katsuki’s hand slid away from Deku’s eyes to thread into dirty green curls.
~~The first moments that Katsuki and Izuku get to be alone after the war sparks desperate, messy sex that is sweet loving sex to them.
