It’s hard to heal, Freddy knew this better than anyone.
Even when he was performing for guests, when he was helping a lost boy survive the night, there was always that numbing, gnawing feeling tugging at his circuits.
He couldn’t help that when he closed his eyes, his mind would wander to happier days - to lazy smiles and to the feeling of a hand brushing against his own.
But at least when the grey feeling got too strong, he knew he could find solace in their memories, and in the dreams that would embrace him while he charged.
In other words; Freddy dreams, and it hurts.
“You were amazing out there. I mean, I guess you already know that from the way the crowd cheered for you, but still, I think you were really good.”
“Thank you,” he chuckled, endeared by Bonnie’s clumsy rambling. “It feels more special hearing it come from you.” The hands and brush working through his hair paused a bit and Freddy cracked an eye open and tilted his head up to see if the other was okay. He thought he could see a faint pink dusting Bonnie’s cheeks, but he wasn’t sure if he was imagining it because Bonnie pushed his head back down before he could get a better look.
