Summary
His Grace, King Stannis, first of his name, knows this game well: war and all its complexities. He has trained for this, he has the experience to win this battle. If all his various irritants leave him alone to plan, that is.
And if all falls into place, he will win. But after the Battle is won, after he is sat upon the Iron Throne, with his crown upon his head, after the wounds are healing, what then?
But after that Battle is won, there is another he must face. One he has not trained for. One he thinks that he knows all about. One he thinks he has fought before. One he thinks he has the requisite experience for. But in truth, he knows nothing of this new battle.
Will he stumble through this meadow of strange emotions like a hapless newborn fawn? Or will he swallow his pride and ask for help?
