    Summary

Close death experiences always left you paranoid, but the deep void in his gut felt so unfamiliar.

He always felt joy every time the squad made it back alive, each one of them surviving the hell that outburst had been ( unannounced, quick and overwhelming) should be a reason for a quiet calm to settle right beside the uneasiness

But this time it just felt wrong

Everyone made it back alive and that might as well be a miracle in itself. But his survival... it didn't quite fit

He felt dead- he should be dead. That was the only thing that felt right and even then the facts contradicted it

He never relied on gods and has no intentions of doing so, maybe that's why accepting something so of that nature was so hard for him

Yeah, that must be it. He only needs to give it some time

    ══════

Or: Illuga dies in a wild hunt outburst, but a little " Gift " from his long forgotten family line keeps him alive at a price of a compulsion to consume the blood and moonlight of everything around him.
