This Valentino wasn’t the worst client Victor had ever had. On a scale, Victor would place this lowlife in the category of “tolerable,” though that was far from singing this man praises when the list of his former clients included the true scum of the earth, many of whom looked and smelled like such. He could say at least that this Valentino had the potential to clean up well. Hell, he might even be mistaken for a man who contributes something of value to society if he covered up.

Summary
Vox wasn’t one to fall particularly hard. He carried himself carefully when it came to affairs of the heart and body, but something about Val… it made all of his defenses crumble, like they hadn’t been carefully crafted for the last several decades. Like they were never there in the first place.
