Summary
There are few greater effects upon a human than parenthood. Biological impulse breeds fierce protectiveness, devotion, and desire to make the squalling bundle of new life have a happy existence.
Parenthood, as all the human condition does, brings out the good, evil and everything in between in Humanity. Many are not up to the task. Many are.
And many re-learn how to be human.
In this universe, a Man regains his humanity through the recollection of Parenthood. It just so happens He is the most powerful Man of all.

Summary
In the 31st Millennium, the Primarchs, were stolen from their father, the Emperor of Mankind. Twenty sons, scattered by the foul machinations of the Chaos Gods, were sent to worlds across the Galaxy, forcing the Emperor to the stars to reunite with his sons, to great a future for Mankind.
