One of the hardest things for Max was leaving Arcadia Bay for Seattle, leaving her best friend Chloe behind, where she was secretly nursing a small, growing teenage crush.
Making friends had always been difficult for the amateur photographer, but being classified as autistic at level 1 made it even more worse. But at least she had Chloe, whether in her countless text messages, emails, or video calls on the computer, until late at night. However, everything changed when, a few weeks after Price revealed a relationship with extremely popular Rachel Amber, one random night, Chloe typed one simple word: "Liar."
Confused and obviously hurt, Max tried to understand what the punk meant, but she was instantly blocked. Alone, with only her self-deprecating thoughts, in a city that had never embraced her since she arrived, she found herself lost again.
But returning to Arcadia Bay was thing that quickly took him out of this loneliness and sadness, however Max just didn't know that this meant would mess up and turn your life upside down in the worst possible way.

Summary
Ten years after Arcadia Bay, Max accepts a job position as an artist-in-residence at the prestigious Caledon University in Vermont. Right as the winter semester is about to end, Max’s new close friend Safi dies at the same time someone rips the timeline into two halves; one where Safi is alive, and one where she isn’t. Max has to figure out who on campus ripped apart time (and therefore is time-touched like Max is), what it has to do with Safi’s death, and mend the timeline, all before another storm occurs.

“You never really talk about why you came here.”Christ, what is she even doing here? Max asks herself that question a lot. If being a mentor makes her so uncomfortable, why did she take the job? Why Vermont of all places? Max doesn’t know why the things that make her squirm draw her in like this, why she’s attracted to the feeling of her own fear and discomfort. She wasn’t always this way, but when she tries to go back and point out when she started feeling this pull, she’s not sure she can pin a date to it.
“One of these days I’m going to find out what you’re running from, Max Caulfield.” said Safi. “That’s a promise.”

Again, again and again Max jumped through time. Her search for the perfect timeline just didn't want to end. And she had lived through the week so many times that she hadn't known exactly how many times it was for a long time.
For Max, however, only one thing was important and that was that Chloes is happy and her life is no longer quite so shitty. Now... It was more difficult than expected.
So she had only one relevant question, how long would she have to travel through the timelines to finally be able to give Chloe a happy ending?
But what if the actual destination was further away than just this one week? For example, would the week turn into several years? And what if Max could save more than just Chloe's life? The answer was perhaps much closer than expected.
What happens to a person who looked death in the eye more often than necessary and had only one main goal? And what new friendships Max will make on her new journey? You will probably have to find out.
But everything has its price, right?
