The Hollow Knight had done its job.
The Radiance is forever sealed away; Hallownest still in its prime. However, those pesky Vessels kept trying to climb out of their hole from whence they came.
The Pale King saw cheap, slave labour for all of Hallownest, and so they were.
Enter Quirrel, a young, new scholar under the tutelage of Monomon. With so much work, he decides to buy a Vessel, Ghost, to help alleviate the workload. After all, they are just mindless beings, right?
A Slice of Life story about emotions, changing who you are as a person, and learning to smile sometimes.

They don't know how it happened, but the Dreamers, the Root and the Pale King have found themselves in much more hot water than expected.
Finding themselves in the human world, the group quickly becomes separated, stranded in the middle of the city. As night quickly falls, and with a human involved, the trio are ready for one hell of an adventure. Well, not with plane rides, dogs, dorito chip crumbs, and a tenor saxophone involved.

Summary
Meluja sits in a stagnant peace, and the Guild thrives in a golden age of heroism. Wonders and adventures lurk in every corner, and it's everything Riley could have asked for. Only, this came at the price of being dropped in the midst of a conspiracy. Humans are forbidden and hated, so he can only be granted shelter if he agrees to stay quiet and ignore it all. While that's easy enough at first, it's a different story when the history of this world emerges bit by bit to drag Riley into this mess.
Trouble brews that's beyond the Guild's direct control. Internal strife from the underground as a Sneasel seeks to usurp the criminals' crown, civil war in the desert just on the eastern boarders, and a perceptive son catching onto the Guild's conspiracy... And yet peace remains, for the Guild declares it.
