Summary
You honestly just wanted to get through school like any other student until you could graduate and go traveling with your Stand Storm. However, altercation with another Stand user left you connected to your 'soulmate' in the name of a lunatic. As if such a thing really existed. Whether or not it did, you certainly had to deal with strange items appearing in your life, like a trail of demented bread crumbs intending to lead you to your one-and-only.
You couldn't care less, right up until you found out your things disappeared as well. And, one morning, you woke up to your Stand gone and a different, unfamiliar one left in her place. This, of course, led you on a wild goose-chase as you tried to catch up to your adventuring soulmates and get back the one being who always had your back.
Though, maybe, along the way, you might realize there was space in your heart and life for more people. And just maybe, family was what you made it, not what you were born into.

“Not going to be as efficient that way,” Jaskier says tightly. He can push through the pain, he thinks. To be useful, he can make himself push through.
“It gets done when it gets done,” Eskel offers easily, and Jaskier gives him a look, suspecting that he’s being coddled. “I mean it. One of the best parts of winter. We’re snowed in here for the season. Things need to get done, of course, but it’s not as if there’s a time limit on most of it.”
(Jaskier feels adrift in Kaer Morhen, dropped into a system that operates with long-practiced self-sufficiency and seems to have no need of bards, even bards who so desperately want to be needed).

He looked like winter itself, if only such a thing could be captured in the way Geralt’s gaze burned into Jaskier. Miniature snowflakes cascaded from the stormcloud brewing above them and landed in his hair, crowning him in frost. He looked as though he was meant to freeze the world over with just a snap of his fingers. And he was offering all of it to Jaskier.
