She couldn’t, Mira likes Rumi. But... the way Mira’s looking at her, her mouth hanging slightly open, her pupils dilated, her chest rising and falling out of rhythm, as if she’s nervous.
And her lips, her gorgeous, soft, perfect lips.
She can’t take it anymore. She leans closer, slower than she’s ever moved before. Her eyes start to flicker closed as she moves in, leaning in closer and closer, until she finally feels Mira’s lips against hers.
Zoey kisses her, gently, their lips barely scraping against each other. Mira’s lips are soft, softer than Zoey could ever imagine. She kisses Mira again, slightly harder, but still gentle, not wanting to push Mira away by being too rough.
She kisses Mira’s lips again, and again, and again. Clumsily at first, but they slowly fall into rhythm with each other.

Mira has had a giant crush on Zoey for years. Zoey has the same feelings about Mira, but only recently figured it out. Both girls confided in Rumi, who came up with some excuse for not being able to go to the bathhouse with them, leaving them alone together. They sit in awkwardness until they can't resist each other anymore, leading to some "private dance lessons" back in Mira's bedroom.

Mira was enjoying it.
She couldn’t pull away, couldn’t hold her back—she didn’t want to either. And Zoey? She seemed to relish this. Mira could feel her lips forming into a smile every time her heart jumped—felt those lips on her skin.
What was she doing? She was supposed to be comforting Zoey. That was the plan, not whatever this was turning into. But now? Mira felt like the one falling apart.
OR
Mira hears Zoey crying in her room and goes into comfort her. Which turns into them sharing a bed for the night, cause my baby Zoey needs cuddles. Which then turns into Zoey becoming a menace and Mira fighting for her life. (she's fine though. Trust me)
