"Sasuke?"The sheets are soft against his skin and they smell of lemons, a scent Sasuke is beginning to hate. His fingers follow the hem of the cloth covering his legs and he doesn't bother to answer that plea, face ostentatiously turned towards the only window in the room.
"Sasuke..." Naruto's voice is sluggish, tired, full of so many unspoken words.
In his memories the walls of the hospital are white, but now Sasuke can't be sure. It is the jarring sound of a moved chair that alerts him to Naruto's movements in the room. He barely winces when his voice suddenly becomes closer, too debilitated to even feel other people's chakra.
"The leaves of the trees have already turned red..."
All Sasuke can see is the darkest blackness.

After the war, Sasuke lost his sight in addition to his arm. He's angry and cannot wait to get out of the hospital. Hinata just wants to help.
Neither of them could have ever imagined to fall in love.
