Summary
"A person. A set of eyes witnessing from one perspective. I think that you are more like me than you are like a person."
The Narrator was more than willing to force The Long Quiet and The Shifting Mound to killing each other, over and over. After all, they are gods. He cares not for them. However, something went wrong. Somewhere, a bit farther away, a mere Human, a person, found himself in the Construct.
He is no one special. He will not hear voices. He will struggle, he will be hurt. But at the very least he isn't alone. After all, even the most painful of roads can be acceptable when shared with company.
(A Human ends up in the Cabin along with The Long Quiet. Things both change, and also don't in some cases.)

Summary
He is a killer. A killer of men, of beasts, and of gods. He recalls fighting in many battles, winning many and losing more. He knows what it means to die over and over again, only to stand up and face death once again. Yet he was also more, even if he didn't remember, or know, why.
His eyes opened, and The Narrator spoke.
"You are on a path in the woods. And at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a princess. You're here to slay her. If you don't, it will be the end of the world."

Summary
It's easy to forget from the privileged position of an immortal god. It's easy to treat the vessels, dangerous and terrible shards of divinity, as harmless. To dismiss their powers and their cruelties as mere quirks.
But sometimes, it's not an immortal god. Sometimes a mere human finds themselves in the presence of Her Royal Highness. Their chapters are much shorter, much bloodier, and don't end with a reset and a new voice.
