Was this even worth it? Odasaku was alive now, but what difference did that make? Him and Dazai were dead to one another. Dazai was almost dead himself.

That isn’t what matters… is it?
No. That was not what mattered at all.
What mattered was that Odasaku deserved to live. He deserved to live in the light, like he’d told Dazai to so long ago. Like he’d said to in another life as he’d torn the bandage from his eye. Be on the side that saves people, he’d said.
