    “Do you want to go home?” He questions, leaning close and voice soft, and Will pauses, before nodding again. Mike lets out a breath, and lets his hand press against Will a little more firmly when he starts to sway in place again. “Okay, let’s go.”

    Then he looks up and is met with smug faces, and Mike flushes when he realizes his own hypocrisy.

    “I don’t talk like that,” Max recalls, voice high-pitched and overly girly and – Mike definitely doesn’t talk like that.

    According to everyone in his life, Mike has a voice reserved just for Will. He tries to figure out what that says about him.

    And Will can't argue with that, so he replies, "What do you want to know?" 

    There’s a long lapse of silence, and then – 

    “Can you come up here?” 

    In the wreckage, Mike and Will spend a series of nights together.

    “I didn’t want to lie to you.” Will’s voice is quiet and breakable, so different from the defensive, factual tone it should be. He should be meaner. Harsher. Crueler. “I just – I didn’t think it’d matter.”

    It feels like Mike’s entire body trembles, shakes like it’s about to burst. “You didn’t think it’d matter if you lied to me?” He hisses, and his voice cracks, just the littlest bit. 

    Mike Wheeler tries his best to navigate his way through the end of the world, with lots of maybes and misplaced anger.

    Por fin la tan esperada charla sobre la pintura.

    Me gustó que sea narrado desde la perspectiva de Mike. Es una historia muy dulce, que irónicamente está construida sobre sentimientos de rabia y confusión.

    So, for Mike to barge into his room and demand an explanation for why Will has been pulling away – well, maybe he’s a little confused. 

    Will finally rips off the band-aid. Mike won't let him.

    William Byers, me rompes el corazón, por favor quiérete. Apesar de mi sufrimiento por los pensamientos autodestructivos de Will, es una linda lectura, muy en personaje y con un buen ritmo.

    “Did I do something wrong?” Mike questions, mouth twisted in a frown, eyes less wide than they were a few moments ago, sleepiness gone. His arms stay at his sides, although his fingers fiddle with his sleeves. “What did I do wrong?”

    Will frowns back. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

    Mike doesn’t look like he believes him. Will doesn’t blame him. “Then why do you keep leaving?”

    The world ends, and then some. Mike and Will find each other again, amidst the debris and distance.
