Castiel gets to high school, cubby and weird, and meets Dean, a goth like him, and they become friends. Together they befriend Ash, Victor, Jo, Mag, and Charlie. He has a crush on Balthazar, but does nothing about it but stare.
During high school, his friendship with Dean becomes more and more important to him, at the same time as he starts to be friends with Balthazar. His rough childhood and the hard environment at his home make him feel angry and depressed, but his friendship with Dean helps him escape it for a while.
After ups and downs in their friendship, that started with silly banters and graduated to Dean teasing Castiel in a sexual manner without any payoff, it gets to a turning point at a school trip when Dean invites Castiel to join him in the shower. Although Castiel feels insecure about himself and about the nature of their relationship, he eventually agrees to everything Dean is offering.
Will his fears of their sexual experience ruining whatever there is between them come true? Or will it be Like Dean told him when he expressed his worries: “It's you and me we’re talking about. We'll figure it out, like we always do.”?
