    “A game,” Max said. His eyes sparkled with mischief. “I’ll give you a word. You give me a lyric. First thing that comes to mind.”

    Charles smirked, immediately intrigued. “Oh, dangerous. You’ll regret it, Maxie.”

    Max arched a brow. “Try me.”

    “Okay,” Max began, pretending to think. “Gelato.”

    Charles didn’t even pause. His lips brushed Max’s jaw as he whispered:
    “Sweet on my tongue, melting fast,
    but never as sweet as your kiss.”

    Max’s ears went pink. “That’s cheating.”

    “Non,” Charles grinned, nipping his earlobe. “That’s poetry.”

    Max cleared his throat, trying to recover. “Fine. Next. Beach.”

    Charles kissed a path down Max’s throat before murmuring:
    “Sand clings to my skin,
    but it’s your hands I want holding me down.”

    Max choked on air, pushing at Charles’ shoulder. “You’re doing this on purpose.”

    Charles looked far too innocent. “Moi?” His fingers slipped beneath Max’s shirt, dragging nails lightly across his stomach.

    “Next,” Max growled. “Ocean.”

    Charles nibbled on a freckle at the base of Max’s neck.
    “Waves crash, but I drown only in your eyes.”

    Max groaned. “This was a mistake.”

    “Fuck, bébé, I was so worried,” Charles sighs, one hand still holding Max’s wandering one down while his other cards through Max’s hair gently. “You scared me to death.” 

    “So handsome,” is Max’s only reply, his fingers sliding free from Charles’ hold before they’re moving up to his face and a lone digit presses into his dimple. It only makes Charles smile which, in turn, makes Max gasp and poke him even harder. “I want to take your face off.”

    OR: Max enjoys the marvels of modern medicine after he goes into the barrier during a race. Charles tries to be cool about it.
