Sazed was a tremendously busy man, and he didn’t have time for this shit. But the woman had flagged him down and promised him an absurd amount of money.
“Is he, uh, okay?” Sazed asked. The elf tagging along with her looked dazed and confused like he didn’t really know what he was doing here. “Look, if you’re trying to just dump your--um--your trash onto me, it won’t work. I won’t have that shit, lady.”
“I promise you, he’ll be okay. He’s perfectly okay. He’s a phenomenal cook. I’ve heard about you, from um, ‘Sizzle it Up with Sazed?’ You’re quite the sensation, aren’t you?”
“Yes, yes, I’m extremely impressive. But are you sure he can cook?”

It was always meant for there to be seven of them on this mission. Thanks to the twin's bond, there's eight. Taako didn't care how many people were around though, the only thing that mattered what that he didn't lose his sister. Thanks to the way they were rebuilt every year, he'd never have to worry about losing her again. That was all that mattered.
Or at least, it was all that mattered at first.
Taako wasn't sure when he started caring so much about the others, but he guessed it was inevitable. You don't go decades dying alongside the same people over and over again without a bond being formed. You can't spend a hundred years of little moments with people without those starting to mean something.
You can't just fall in love and have all of that amount to nothing in the blink of an eye.

The IPRE program was going great, Taako was actually goddamn happy for once, they hadn't heard hide nor hair of their asshole relatives since their grand exit, and she was engaged to Barry fucking Bluejeans. Realistically, this should be the happiest Lup had ever been in her entire life.
Except engaged meant wedding, which meant wedding planning. Lup had no earthly idea what she was doing.
Maybe if she sent the invitations out in wingdings, no one would show up.
