Summary
It was a dark, abysmal day in the trenches; it was no different from any of the other monotonous days. James, though, seemed like a ray of sunshine to the gloomy trenches, despite the foul scent of decay and misery. However, he seemed alone and troubled by the sound of machine gun fire. That was, at least, until he met that dashing man for the second time; he would later regard him as a close, if not very close, friend.
