Till tells himself it’s just paperwork – just two scribbled signatures, tax benefits, and a way to survive their last year of university without drowning in debt. It doesn’t matter that Ivan was once the only person who ever really knew him, or that they haven’t spoken in years, or that being around him now feels like pressing on a bruise Till thought had faded.

    It’s fine. It’s practical, even.

    At least, it would be if Ivan didn’t still make his heart do stupid things every time their hands brushed, or if Till didn’t keep catching Ivan staring at him just a little too long to be considered friendly.

    But, really, it’s just a marriage on paper. No feelings. No complications. Nothing could possibly go wrong.
