Summary
“Buck. I’ve heard so much about you.” He said as he approached the group, grinning.
Buck extended a hand, Mateo took it, the handshake lasting just a beat too long. “All good things, I hope.”
“Oh, definitely.”
Only Eddie noticed how his handshake only lingered with Buck. He watched them all start to talk, how Mateo seemed to lay his eyes on Buck far more.
He watched as Buck smiled—one of those lopsided, disarming smiles—and his stomach dropped to the floor.

A childhood friend of Eddie’s joins the 118 and instantly starts flirting with Buck. Eddie feels some type of way about it.

Summary
Eddie’s grip on Buck became almost vice-like but neither one said anything about it. They both needed the closeness in that moment.
“Buck are you- do you want to kill yourself?” Eddie’s voice wavered, a sob chasing behind the words. The pang in Buck’s heart increased.
“I- I don’t want to… that’s why I was scared, because I wasn’t afraid to.”
