Summary
It has been 9 months since Hawkins was split into 4 and the Byers have been living at the Wheelers residence ever since. Will was hopeful about this initially looking forward to having his best friend back but soon came to realise nothing had really changed between him and Mike since California. Living together had become more of an awkward co-existance than two best friends living with one another. The party are preoccupied doing their own things leaving Will feeling disappointed and longing for their group and his friendship with Mike to be restored to the way it was before.
However this all begins to change on Christmas Eve.
