How I imagine it could have gone instead, featuring:
Real conversations between Aziraphale and Crowley in which they are both flawed, they both apologize, and they learn to grow together.
Humans actually get a say and play a key role
Jesus + Adam, the pairing we deserved to see and damn they do good work together
Most importantly: A world that is worth saving, is worth fixing, even when it seems hopeless. Giving up is not the answer. Concluding in a happy ending with hope for the future we can create.- Language:

Summary
Once upon a time humankind and magical creatures like dragons, minotaurs, krakens, giants and others, agreed on a pact.
It came with rules and traditions that kept the balance in this world for a long, long time.
Crowley, a shapeshifting dragon, has been part of this system for as long as he could remember.
He guarded the castle, protected the princess and followed the given rules (with a certain amount of creative interpretation that is).
But when a certain knight arrives, who isn't particularly interested in the role given to him, the story begins to shift and a rather unusual arrangement unfurls.
