Sasuke had a wall between himself and others—a wall that Naruto had spent years breaking down piece by piece until the only thing still standing between them was the confines of this…thing. Whatever it was. This ever-growing limbo between best friends and more.
So, when—in the month leading up to Sasuke’s yearly time off, in which he always returned to Konoha—the silences between them had gotten longer, Naruto felt it like a pit in his stomach. The fear of being moved on from, abandoned, traded in for the sun and fame and whatever the hell else there was in L.A that Sasuke always went back to.
Naruto has no intentions of leaving his hometown, it has everything he could possibly need. Except for one thing.
