He's yakuza. You're a doctor. The nice girl falling for the bad boy is a tale as old as time, but you're less an angel in white, more a psycho with a grudge against the Japanese underworld.
Reader meets Nishiki during 1988/the Yakuza 0 period, and then revives him after the 2005 Millennium Tower explosion of Yakuza 1/Yakuza Kiwami.

"Why did you save me?" He croaks. The right side of his face doesn't move--it's one massive scab after the millennium tower explosion.
Were Akira Nishikiyama anyone else, you'd give a generic response: this is your job, saving lives is a doctor's highest calling, blah, blah, blah. Nishiki knows you better than the bullshit and you know the cameras in the room. There's no audio recording, Nishiki's a Tojo patriarch, and you're the angel of Todai. Who'd believe him if he told? So you move into position, your face hidden from the cameras in case a lip-reader ever reviews the footage.
"I'm the best damn trauma surgeon in Tokyo," you tell Nishiki. "and the yakuza ain't fucking my track record."

A series of yakuza AU stories featuring a reader-character who is a doctor, woman, and psychopath with a lifelong grudge against the Japanese underworld. I'm interested in exploring the role that a woman might have in the yakuza games, especially as 1988-2019 was a time of increasing feminism and decreasing yakuza influence in Japan.
Reading angelology first may make for a better experience—it has more information on the reader-character—unless you're just here for Tachibana. In that case, you might be able to skip angelology and go straight to demonology.
