Recuerda esa mañana, la solitaria cucharada de arroz con huevo, un poco frío por el tiempo que le había tomado tomar sólidamente los palillos, recuerda la noche anterior, su cena fría luego de haber ignorado los llamados de Mizuki. El almuerzo del día anterior, el desayuno, la cena de nuevo. Lleva días en ese estado de putrefacción, comiendo comida fría pese a los esfuerzos de su esposa por cocinar diariamente, por servirle la comida caliente y recién hecha, por amoldarse a sus gustos.
