Xiao looked up from his phone, raising an eyebrow. Okay, she had to be new. There was no way she couldn’t be. The rumors and secrets that had surrounded him in recent years would have been enough to drive off anyone. He was known for his destructive nature. It was the simple truth. It was… strange to not be held in such a regard. He was also acutely aware of all the inquisitive looks the two of them were getting. Apparently, he wasn’t the only one with this train of thought.
“What’s your name?” He asked, resting his head on his hand.
“Ah—Lumine. What’s yours?”
“Xiao.” Maybe his name would trip some triggers in her brain, telling her to stay away and run.
He watched as something did register with her, but the reaction he got hit him in his blind spot. “Oh, you’re the music major everyone keeps talking about, right? That’s really cool, what kind of music do you write?”
That was not what he was expecting.
