It's that time of year again. The trolls are all a flutter for the Flower Festival. Each year at the summer's end, the trolls gather at the edge of the meadow outside of the village, and approach the first flower they spot called theDestiny’s Bloom. Every single flower is attached to one other and tradition states that the two trolls who meet from the connecting roots are fated to be together. Only there’s one slight problem this year. Surely fate wouldn’t be so cruel as to mate Creek with the dullest of them all, right? Branch certainly hopes it's dead wrong because like Hell he's spending his life with a pompous jerk like Creek.

Creek is far too stubborn to apologize and Guy Diamond doesn’t think he’s wrong. That leaves Branch, as the usual mediator to fix things. It's going to take some careful planning and manipulation to get this to work. Not that Branch doesn’t always enjoy the end results.

Summary: Prince Branch’s turned twenty-one now, so it’s high time he’s chosen a mate to rule alongside him as King of Troll Valley. Naturally, Creek, Captain of the Royal Guard and private lover, is the prince's first choice. Unfortunately, his father has other ideas and hadn’t thought to consult his son about having been engaged to someone since he was ten. This poses a problem.

Ignores epilogue. Takes place some months after bergens and trolls make peace. Creek is brought to a trial for his crimes. He receives his punishment and as time fades by, so do his colors. Branch isn't as thrilled about seeing the once proud troll seem so broken. And finding Creek crying one day all alone becomes Branch's undoing.
